Christine Downs
Christine has spent over thirty years serving children, youth, and adults with a focus on helping schools and human services agencies create safe, effective, and supportive environments. As a Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Specialist for the New York State Education Department, she spent eleven years improving systems at the school, district, regional, and state level, including serving on the NY State PBIS Evaluation Committee. In 2008, Christine was recognized for her work in PBIS by the NYS Board of Regents. Currently, she is the Director of PBIS for the May Institute where she oversees PBIS implementation across Massachusetts and is the lead Program Coordinator for the MA-DESE SEB Academy-PBIS Track. Christine earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ithaca College, and her master’s degree in Education from Arizona State University.
